Becoming One

Jesus states in Mark 10:8, that two [husband and wife] shall become one, and that they shall no longer be two but ONE. In addition Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:5, and Ephesians 5:3 all use verbiage that communicates the truth that becoming ONE is a process and does not happen when one says “I do”. Being ONE with your spouse can be defined as one body but two souls (the husband’s and wife’s) with united interest. The scripture literally describes marriage as one spouse becoming a part of the other spouse’s body/flesh in Ephesians 5:29.
